Just had a really good night out at a friends. We went around for dinner and a catch-up, and me being the kind and generous person drove (lol, I drank last time!!!). So, no drinking! It was really nice to get out especially as it was a Saturday night, and that’s what Saturday nights are for. What driving was really good for was to come back ready to hunt the drunk donks out. Yes, I was ready and raring to hit the tables.
I cranked open two tables of 50nl, and settled in. Early on I had KK on the button, and I raised the cut-off’s open of $1.75 to $5. He calls and the flop is 5sQs5c. Obviously, I got concerned about QQ, but I actually put him on a hand like AQ, as he would more than likely re-raise me pre-flop (he was running 16vpip/7pfr/2.3aggr.fac.). He checks, I c-bet $8 into $10.75, and he min-raises, and I shove hoping my read is right for AQ. He called, and did indeed have AQ, and my hand held up to take down $65.95 (he was short).
I’ll tell you about one more hand where I was in the small blind facing an open/raise from a Russian guy that had been very active (35vpip/20pfr/7.2aggr.fac.), and we had already played quite a few hands together. So, I call with 9d9h, but then the big blind raised it up to $6. Now, he’d actually been 3-betting his big blind 43%, YES 43%!!! The Russian folds, but I really don’t believe the guy. Maybe he has Ax or a pocket pair, but I feel my pocket 9′s are good a fair amount of the time versus his range, so I shove. He called with 4h4c for his $28.45 stack, and my pocket 9′s hold up! Man it felt good.
Basically, this session flowed so well, and I made some really good reads. I finished the session up 2 buy-ins. I really felt like I wanted to carry on as it seemed so easy, but I’m feeling tired and think it’s time to call it a day. So, sweet dreams all.
