September’s results

I thought it might be quite interesting to do a little summary of September, and share with you my thoughts on why it went the way it did.

First off, I’ll start by saying that it was a good month. In fact, it might be my best performance month so far, with an overall winrate of 23.77bb/100 :-) . The odd thing about September was that I didn’t play anywhere near what I usually play, but when I did play I was very selective about when and where I played. For example, I have now adapted to playing poker late, around midnight here in the UK. As I’ve mentioned before, it definitely seems to be one of the best times for the fish and donks. So, I’ve been getting a couple of hours in then and turning the best profit I’ve ever seen!

Another factor that has changed is my willingness to play small ball, not getting so attached to medium strength hands, and not chasing after the flips (although I OBVIOUSLY don’t shy away from them!).Saying that, one hand tonight (AKs) saw me 5-bet shove versus an aggro reg, but it’s about selection.

I’m not sure if I’ve mentioned this before, but I have only played 2 tables during September. I wanted to really focus on improving my game, and not being on auto-pilot multi-tabling, and I really feel this has helped my winrate no end.

Some stats for the month that you might find interesting are 26.8vpip/19.8pfr/1.61agg factor. My 3-bet was running at a healthy 5.0!

Fingers crossed October brings more of the same.
